  • ¼ cup finely chopped celery
  • ¼ cup finely chopped sweet red pepper
  • 2-3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp mild curry powder
  • mayonnaise
  • mustard
  • 8 slices of white bread, crusts trimmed off, buttered on one side

Dormouse's Dillied Egg

  • 6 hard boiled eggs, cut in half and yolks removed
  • 2 tablespoons minced dill pickles
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 2 teaspoons fresh dill, minced, or 1 tsp dried
  • mayonnaise
  • mustard
  • paprika
  • parsley

Mash egg yolks and mix with pickle, onion, and dill. Add mayonnaise to moisten and mustard to taste. Pile mixture into egg halves. Sprinkle with paprika and garnish with parsley.

Alice's Thumbprint Cookie

  • 1 cup shortening
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 egg whites, slightly beaten
  • 1½ cups finely chooped pecans or walnuts

Cream shortening, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla. Sift flour with salt and stir into creamed mixture. Roll into balls. Dip in egg whites. Roll in chopped nuts.
